Bizarre History of Salt Lake City Streets

Wirth

SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) – You’ve probably had folks from out of town ask puzzled questions when you try to give them Utah addresses as East, West, North, and South in what we know to be a logical grid.

Well, if it is confusing now, just try to understand the naming system about a century ago. In 1916, what we know as 14th South became 33rd South and Martin Street became 13th South.

You may have to take notes, but Craig Wirth explains it all in this edition of Wirth Watching.
