Update Monday 1:00 p.m – According to Utah Fire Info, the Traverse Fire is now 100% contained and will transition back to a Type 4 fire by this evening. As previously stated the fire began Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. by fireworks, we awaiting an update as to exactly who started this catastrophic fire and what sort of fireworks were discharged.
Update Monday 9:30 a.m. – In addition to Lehi, evacuations have also lifted for Draper neighborhoods affected by the Traverse Fire. According to Draper City officials, residents living in the Maple Hollow neighborhood. Residents are now allowed to return to their homes.
The fire is still 26% contained and has burned just over 450 acres as of Sunday night.

Update 7 p.m. – According to Lehi City officials evacuation orders for Lehi neighborhoods, Autumn Hills and Spring Dew Lane have been lifted, residents may start returning to their homes in Lehi.

UPDATE 7:30 a.m. — LEHI, Utah (ABC4 News) – A wind-fueled brush fire on Traverse Mountain forced residents in both Lehi and Draper from their homes overnight. The fire was first reported to Central Utah 911 just after 11:13 p.m.
Within hours the fast moving blaze threatened homes as fires crews battled to contain the brush fire.
Lehi officials issued evacuations just after 2 a.m. for Autumn Hills and Spring View Lane area residents. Roughly, an hour later Draper residents in the Sun Crest area were told they had to leave as well.
The evacuees were directed to evacuation shelters set up by the Utah Red Cross at Skyridge High School in Lehi.
Red Cross workers tested residents for COVID-19 symptoms before allowing them to enter.
Fire crews are still working to extinguish the brush fire. There are no homes or structures currently threatened by the brush fire. ABC4 News will continue to update the story. The fire is currently an estimated 500+ acres.
Roughly 200 resources are assigned to the incident, more on the way.
4:30 am— A rapidly spreading brush fire that authorities say was started by fireworks is burning above Traverse Mountain Outlets while some residents in Lehi and Draper are being asked to evacuate.
The fire can visibly be seen off Timpanogos Highway and portions of Northern Utah County.

The fire is currently 26% contained. Fire officials say activity has not picked back up despite strong winds in the area.

Strong, gusty winds are pushing this fire and allowing it to spread quickly. Small scattered showers only gave a little bit of reprieve for firefighters as the fire picked up speed again on the Draper side.
According to Lehi Certified Response team, crews from Lehi, Saratoga Springs, American Fork, and Utah County are responding to the fire.
Utah Fire Info said the fire was caused by fireworks and the suspect is working with law enforcement.
Utah Fire Info is also reporting another fire near Cedar Hills that started Saturday night. No further information was given on that fire as of 3 a.m. Sunday. We will continue to check for updates.
Rocky Mountain Power has indicated they have thousands of residents without power in the surrounding areas but have not indicated if it is because of the fire.
