Just before 10:30 AM this morning, authorities responded to a report of an active shooter in the North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino, CA.

Two adults, one being a teacher was found dead with two students in critical condition helicoptered to a local trauma center.  The gunman is reported to have walked onto the campus and open fired on a classroom in what is being presumed as a murder-suicide.

Maria Garcia, the San Bernardino City Unified School District spokeswoman confirmed that the situation has been “contained”, with police claiming there to be “no further threat.”  Garcia continued on to say the age of the students and the grade of the teacher is unknown at this time.

How the gunman gained entry into the school is also in question, since the only entry point for the campus during school hours is through the school office.

The students of North Park were relocated to Cajon High School, with parents asked to bring an ID upon reuniting with their child.

With the incident, 2 other Elementary Schools, Cajon and Hillside and Cal State University were placed on lock down as a precaution.

More information to come.
