Herriman, Bountiful move on to softball championship games

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 Sports) – Herriman and Bountiful both pulled out semifinal victories and will be the favorites to win state softball championships on Thursday.

The Mustangs beat Bingham, 8-2, to advance to the 6A title game. April Visser hit a home run in the victory for Herriman. The Miners will face Syracuse tomorrow afternoon with the winner having to beat Herriman twice to win the title.

In the 5A winners bracket semifinals, Bountiful built a 4-0 lead and held on to beat Box Elder, 5-4. Alyssa Bowles smacked a 2-run home run for the Braves. The Bees will face defending champion West High Thursday afternoon, with the winner moving on to the championship game against Bountiful.
