Myth: Carpet is bad for allergies

Midday Sponsored

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4Utah) – A carpet myth is that it is bad for your allergies. It is actually the opposite. The carpet in your home acts as a filter. There are many filters in your home that catch harmful or unwanted debris.

There are filters in your air systems and even your dishwasher. These need to be replaced or clean for them to work properly.

Carpet is filtering the air in your home and trapping a lot of allergies and debris, but like other filters it needs to be clean so it can continue to do its job.

It’s recommended by Zerorez that you clean your carpets as many times a week as you have adults in your home. If you’ve got pets cats, dogs, and or kids you might want to increase that number.

Right now, Zerorez Salt Lake is offering a Father’s Day Special. If you have three rooms cleaned, the fourth room (or chair) is free.
