2017 My Heart Challange

4pm Sponsored

Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute has been motivating Utahns to improve heart health through prizes, competition, as well as the incentive of better health. As usual, 13 participants from non-profit organizations have been selected to participate and compete in the 2017 My Heart Challenge. The goal is to reduce the risk of developing disease and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

The organizations are competing for a $1,000 prize awarded to their cause after a final heart evaluation.

Michael Smalldon, chosen from the Red Cross, is one of those committed to winning. His motivation is work and family.

“It’s going to help with me deploying and then I’m sure my wife is going to enjoy having me around for quite a while.”

The participants plan to take what they have learned over the course of the challenge and return to their organizations and families to help them to work towards the same goal.
