Tee or cool off at Palisade State Park

Road Tour
MANTI, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – The Good4Utah Road Tour continued with a stop in Palisade State Park this week. It’s where people are finding great ways to beat the heart.

San Pete County is the place to tee off for your summer fun. Palisades State Park is a hole in one for the family, they’ve got something for everyone.

It’s time to yell fore on a trip to the Manti area this summer. The affordable golf rounds are just one the reason to take a swing at Palisade.

“It’s a canyon course, it’s located here in a canyon. It offers a lot of elevated tee shots, start from the top and hit way downhill. This one here, we drop 60 ft, it’s very friendly too, a beginner to an expert would be challenged to play here,” said Jordan Vanorman. Head Golf Professional.

Only a few our state parks link you to the links and on top of that, the view over the lake could grab anyone’s attention.

“I spent hours floating around the water watching all the fun unfold. I was really happy to see the standup paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming is very popular amongst families and just to see everyone outside enjoying recreation,” said Jen Dodge, Cottonwood Heights resident.

The Lake at Palisades keeps families cool on the hottest summer days. Rentals are on the dock and a splash of fun keeps the trips engaging for all.

“They can come and do all the water with boats, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle board. It’s a non-motorized lake but we do allow electrics so people do some fishing on here. It’s a really good place to be,” said Bevan Monroe, assistant park manager.

That is just a slice of the variety at Palisades. Camping facilities easily allow you to extend your day trip. From tents to cabins with bathrooms, everyone can find a comfort level to enjoy the outdoors.

“Camping wise, any style of camping we pretty well accommodate. We have several group sites, that range from a lot of grass to less grass but they all have pavilions that has tables on them so you can do your meals.  It’s a pretty good place for any type of camper, said Monroe.
