Explore 28 miles of non-motorized trail on the Historic Union Pacific Trail

Road Tour

The Historic Union Pacific Trail in Summit County is not your traditional state park. Weaving it’s way from Park City to Echo Reservoir, it’s 28 miles of non-motorized trail with close-up views of wildlife.

It’s a free, fun, and fantastic ride along an old rail trail.

The railroad line originated back in 1880, and in 1989 Union Pacific abandoned the line. The trail made it on to the state park roster in 1992.

It takes you through Utah’s newest state park in Echo, making it an easy day trip and the chance to visit two of Utah’s 44 State Parks.
