ST. GEORGE, Utah (News4Utah) – St. George police said a young boy who disappeared sometime in the middle of the night was found safe Thursday.
Brandon Stratton, 3, was reportedly dropped off at the St. George Police Department around 4:30 p.m. They are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
“This is the best possible outcome we could have,” said St. George Police Captain Mike Giles.
Police said Brandon was last seen sometime after midnight but was reported missing from his home after 11 a.m.
Family members reported Brandon missing from a residence in the 400 South block of Main Street. Police said the family did not have any information about where he was or how he could have disappeared.
“In situations like this, when we have especially children missing, as the case with Brandon, we call out additional resources immediately and begin a canvass of the immediate area around the residence, the neighborhood and begin to expand,” said St. George Police Captain Mike Giles.
Police sent out a pre-scripted message to residents in the area to let them know that Brandon was missing and the information about his appearance and physical description.
While the circumstances surrounding Brandon’s disappearance did not meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert, detectives contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to get the information out nationally.
Currently, police called Brandon’s disappearance suspicious. They looked to question everyone and looking for “any and all” information which would guide them in their investigation.
