Debate over Mueller’s findings continues to spark outrage on Capitol Hill

Washington-DC

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Robert Mueller’s investigation may be over, but the debate about his findings continues to spark outrage on Capitol Hill.

President Trump was still venting Monday over the investigation.

“We can never let this happen to another president again,” he stated.

The Justice Department reported to Congress that Mueller found no evidence that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia in 2016.

Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley said it’s time to move on.

“For two years, we spent $41 million. There was no collusion,” he said.

But some Congressional Democrats say the special counsel did not completely exonerate the president and they want to see Mueller’s full report for themselves.

“Until we get the follow report released and until we get all of the information that surrounds that, I don’t think we should be jumping to any conclusions,” said Rep. Katie Hill, D-California.

Vice President Mike Pence said he’s certain Mueller’s report will reassure voters.

“This was a total vindication of the president and our campaign,” Pence said.

Attorney General William Barr is promising to release as much of the report as he can.
