Update, 7:04 p.m.: Social workers and crisis negotiators are on scene working towards a safe resolution, SLCPD says.

The fugitive is reportedly barricaded in a room at the Main Street Motel and has refused to communicate with officers.

A short time ago, SWAT used a breaching device to further their attempts to peacefully resolve this incident.


Original Post: SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s SWAT team are currently working to take a fugitive into custody.

Police said the situation is unfolding near 1500 South Main Street.

Main Street is reportedly closed from Kensington Avenue to Bryan Avenue at this time.
