UPDATE, 3:55 p.m.: According to Sgt. Mark Wian, SLCPD, officers spotted a truck with stolen license plates in the area at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Police said they did not pursue the truck, but learned shortly after that it had crashed into a car near 400 South 600 East.

A 50-year-old man was reportedly in the car that was struck. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition by paramedics.

Two individuals were reportedly in the truck with stolen plates. They fled the scene upon crashing. Police have since taken the driver, a 28-year-old woman, into custody.

The identity of this person has not yet been released.

ORIGINAL POST: SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Salt Lake City Police officers are currently at the scene of a crash at 400 South 600 East.
