UPDATE: Seven officers with the Ogden Police Department have been placed on administrative leave after a man was shot and killed on Sunday.
On Nov. 5, shortly before 1:20 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a house on the 200 North Block of Eccles Avenue. A man was reportedly intoxicated at the home and armed with a firearm.
The man had reportedly said that he would “handle it himself and take himself out” if officers came to the home.
Upon arriving at the scene, seven officers were confronted by a man with a handgun, a release states. The man allegedly pointed the gun at officers repeatedly and ignored multiple commands to drop the weapon.
“The officers fired their weapons, and the suspect was struck and killed,” the release states.
Police said officers have responded to calls of this nature at this house before, where the same man has threatened to use firearms against himself and officers.
The Weber County Attorney Officer-Involved Critical Incident Team was immediately notified of the incident, and will be completing the investigation into this matter. All seven officers have been placed on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
“Due to the active nature of the investigation, further details will be released at future press conferences later this week,” the release states.

ORIGINAL POST: OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — An officer-involved shooting occurred in Ogden early Sunday morning, according to Ogden Police.
On Nov. 5, at around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a weapons disturbance in Ogden.
