SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Police have confirmed that the man found with a gunshot wound at a townhouse complex in Glendale has died.

The man, who has been identified as 35-year-old Guthrie Serawop, was found with a critical gunshot wound shortly around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 near 1665 South Riverside Drive. The Salt Lake City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance transported Serawop to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police believed the suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

This reportedly marks the first Salt Lake City homicide in 2023.

An investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. Detectives are asking the members of the public who may have information related to the case to call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 23-22963.

No additional information has been released at this time.
