‘Walk for Water’ works to bring aid to women in India

News
Women and girls in India spend hours making several trips a day, carrying several gallons of water to make sure their family has enough water to drink, cook with, wash, and live.

People are suiting up to walk in Sugarhouse Park on Saturday May 2nd at 10 a.m. for the Walk for Water

Participants will walk two laps around the park carrying as much water as possible in honor of those who do this daily to survive.

The donations from the walk will help raise money towards a water well for a town in India.

“Fresh water is something we take for granted,” said Courtney Brandon, “I have been provided a very nice life and would like to give back to those who are less fortunate.”

Courtney also designs swimwear at Bondi Swimwear to help  buy a water well for a town in India.

The organization benefiting from donations is Hidden Choices.
