Utah State fans excited for Mountain West championship game

News

LAS VEGAS (ABC4 Sports) – Last night after Utah State defeated Fresno State, Aggies star Sam Merrill made an offer that just fans couldn’t resist. He said head coach Craig Smith would pay for their gas if they drove down Saturday morning for the Mountain West Tournament championship game against San Diego State.

“I’m grateful for our fans, who were awesome again tonight. We’re hoping to ahve a lot more tomorrow. It’s not that long of a drive, it’s only six hours. Coach will pay for your gas if you need to.

Smith then added, “And your speeding tickets.”

Well Aggie fans came down in droves. Utah State was already well represented in their team’s wins over New Mexico and Fresno State, but they hope to pack the Thomas & Mack Center Saturday as the Aggies go for their first Mountain West Tournament title.
