6/3/2019 – Utah ranks second in the nation for best state economy, according to a new study released by the personal finance website, WalletHub. 

The study compared 50 states and the District of Columbia across 28 key indicators of economic performance and strength. 

The states that ranked in the top 5 for best state economy include: 

  1. Washington
  2. Utah
  3. Massachusetts 
  4. California 
  5. Colorado

Other categories that Utah placed include the following: 

  • Economic Health: 1
  • Innovation Potential: 10
  • Most Startup Activity: 4 
  • Highest Median Household Income: 2
