IRON COUNTY (ABC4 News) A woman was jailed on drug charges after troopers said she was found with 38 pounds of marijuana and other cannabis products.

On January 23, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 15 in Cedar City.

Upon contact with the driver, 27-year-old Chelsea Young, the trooper said he “observed indications of possible criminal activity.”

According to a probable cause statement, as Young was questioned about having contraband in the car, she pulled out a vape pen with THC oil from her sweatshirt pocket and handed it to the trooper.

He asked her if she had a medical marijuana card, and she said she did not.

UHP said a subsequent search of the car yielded about 38 pounds of vacuum-packed marijuana flower, about 700 cannabis vape cartridges, 75 THC gummies, and pre-rolled blunts. All the items were packed into two large duffel bags in the trunk.

Young was booked into the Iron County Jail on several drug charges. Her bail was set at $5,000.
