SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Several people, including three children were injured in a crash in Salt Lake City Thursday night.
Salt Lake City Police Lt. Dave Cracroft said the crash happened around 9 p.m. when for some unknown reason the driver of a Ford Focus, carrying two adults and three children, stopped in the middle of the intersection at 1000 S. Redwood Rd.
The car was t-boned by a southbound vehicle carrying two adults.
Two children and the two adults in the Focus received minor injuries however one girl, approximately 2-3 years old, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Cracroft said the girl was upgraded to serous shortly after arriving but sometime during the night she took a turn for the worse and has now been downgraded.
They are still investigating the crash. Cracroft said it is still not known why the driver of the Focus stopped in the middle of the intersection. He does not know if drugs or alcohol were factors.
The two adults in the southbound vehicle received minor injuries and were not transported to the hospital.
