PINEVALLEY, Utah (ABC4)-Two separate fires are burning in Dixie National Forest in the Pine Valley Ranger District. The Grass Valley Fire is approximately 5 miles north of Pine Valley and the North Fire is approximately 7 miles from Pine Valley, Utah.
There are no current threats to structures and no evacuations have been issued.
The North Fire
The North Fire began on Friday and has burned 492 acres. Damage from the fire caused Forest Roads #011 and #009 to close.
Fire officials expect the North Fire to continue to burn today because today is a red flag warning day for southwest Utah.
55 personnel are fighting the fire.
The Grass Valley Fire
The fire has spread to 13 acres. It burns on Pinyon, juniper, brush and grasses. The fire began on Friday and the cause is under investigation.
