Two robberies in Salt Lake City are connected, say police

SALT LAKE CITY, (ABC4) – Two robberies that happened on Saturday in the Salt Lake City area are related, said Robbin Heiden with Salt Lake City Police Department. 

The first robbery took place at Leavitt’s Laundry Dry Cleaning & Coin-Op Laundromat at 2149 E 2100 S, Salt Lake City around 9:50 am. Police say the suspect had a knife, is 5’8” and in his 50s. He was wearing black athletic pants and a dark-colored baseball cap with a navy t-shirt. The suspect then fled the scene in a 2001 silver Cavalier. 

The second robbery also involved a with a man with the similar description around 2:15 pm in at an America Fire Credit Union at 3290 S 1290 E Richman St. 

Heiden said she’s they believe the robber will strike again so they have called the FBI to join in the investigation.
