SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) – Construction on the Trax route near 700 S are causing delays to travelers trying to get downtown from Salt Lake City.

Passengers can expect delays can be anywhere between 30-40 minutes, said Remmi Barron, Utah Transportation Authority’s spokesperson.

The Blue Line will run between Draper and the Airport, the black line will run between University and Salt Lake Central, the Red Line will only between Daybreak and Ballpark, the Green Line will only run between West Valley and Ballpark.

“We call this a state of good repair work,” he said. “It involves replacing the curved rails. Those rails are 18 years old.  Curved rails wear out more frequently than the straight rails do. We apologize for the inconvenience.

He said UTA has tried to make the construction as easy as possible for passengers.

“We’ve got an army of employees to be stationed at the various platforms in able to give people verbal communication about what’s going on,” he said.
