SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – If you love tomatoes and pesto and you’re hungry right now, you might not want to keep reading.
Hundreds showed up today for what they call the world famous Tomato Sandwich Party. The event was free and is annually at the Grateful Tomato Garden at 800 South 600 East in Salt Lake City.
The garden is a community garden, which means people can rent plots to grow different types of produce.
The folks who go to the event say they love the sandwiches.
“The pesto and basil come from our garden, so it’s made fresh,” Ashley Patterson told Good4Utah. “Then we just put fresh, harvested tomatoes on top. You really can’t go wrong.”
This is the 23rd year the event has been held. So if it sounds yummy, keep an eye out for it next year.
