TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A semi-truck caught fire on I-80 near the town of Aragonite in Tooele County Tuesday night.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the driver was flown by helicopter to the hospital, “after sustaining life-threatening burns.”

The driver was the only person in the truck.

Troopers say the driver was pulled over on the exit utilizing the sleeper berth when the engine area caught fire for an unknown reason.

They say he had to maneuver through the flames in order to escape.
