SANDY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police in Sandy have confirmed they have found the  missing 15-year-old autistic teen missing since Friday morning.

In a tweet put out earlier this evening, Sandy Police said that Andrew Cook had been found safely and appears to be in good health.

Sandy City Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Jason Nielsen said they were called to a report that Cook had gone missing at about 9 p.m. Friday.

He was last seen on Pepperwood Apartment surveillance footage at 10:06 a.m. walking west out of the complex. He was not seen coming back into Pepperwood on any surveillance video.

A reverse 911 call was made to all homes within a 10-mile radius. A neighborhood group was organized and a search was performed around the home including the gully area.

An attempt to located (ATL) was put out through dispatch to surrounding agencies. A West Valley Police bloodhound responded and attempted to track Andrew, but was not successful. Andrew has left before, but usually returns home or is found hiding somewhere in or near the house. Officers also checked Andrews school, Bluffdale Summit Academy, although Andrew did not have school and was supposed to be at home all day.
