ROY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Roy native Bob Quick is riding across America for a third time trying to set an example for all of us to get off the couch.
With a police and fire escort, he arrived at the Roy fire station today.
Thirteen years ago, he was doing drugs, leading a sedentary life when he suffered a heart attack. He was pronounced dead until Roy firefighters got him to the hospital. After that, Bob started exercising.
Now he rides across America to show all of us what we can accomplish.
“Try to do it with 18 stents in your heart, a pace maker defibrillator and a working third of a heart,” Quick told Good4Utah. “Yes, we’re still going.”
Bob’s ride this year is in honor of Sadie. She is the daughter of the heart surgeon who saved his life. She was only 26 and died unexpectedly.
