WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) Police are looking for three suspects after a home-invasion robbery at an apartment complex in West Valley City early Sunday morning.

West Valley City Police Lt. Jeff Conger said they were called to the Aspenwood Apartments located near 4100 South 4000 West at 2 a.m. on a report of three men who had just robbed the residence.

Conger said the occupants living in the apartment were having a party when a man wearing all black and a mask, carrying a hand gun, walked in through the unlocked front door.

“He told the occupants he was there to rob the place,” Conger said. “Two other men wearing all black and face masks walked in behind him and walked straight to the apartment owner’s bedroom.”

Conger said the apartment owner at first thought it was some friends of his pulling a prank and approached the suspects while they were in the room to confront them.

“Another individual, who was in another room, heard the commotion and came out with a shot gun,” Conger said. “The one suspect who had the hand gun grabbed the barrel of the shot gun and a struggle ensued, during which the suspect dropped his gun and all three suspects ran from the apartment.”

Conger said there was marijuana in the apartment and they are not certain if that is what the suspects were looking for but the incident is still under investigation.

No one has been arrested but Conger said they are working on possible leads.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Valley City Police dispatch at 801-840-4000.
