Police investigate shooting in Layton

LAYTON, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A 52-year-old man was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a shooting in Layton. 

Layton police officers responded 1650 North 1425 West on a report of shots fired around 3:15 p.m. 

When officers arrived, they found a 52-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. The man was taken to McKay Dee Hospital. 

A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody and he is being questioned by police. At this time investigators have not determined what circumstances led to the confrontation between the suspect and the victim.
