Overnight party fight in Ogden kills one

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Ogden Police continue to investigate a death that occurred during an altercation at a Halloween party in Ogden last night. Friends have stepped forward and identified the victim as William Torrence. More than 30 people witnessed the incident.

Police say the fight took place around 11 p.m. near Lester Park at 700 East 24th Street. Witnesses report they saw people arguing with others that were driving in a car earlier in the night. The people in the car reportedly came back to the scene, at which point it is believed a fight ensued.

Curressia Walton was with Torrence in his truck during the altercation. She explained, “It was like eight of them that came at us and surrounded our truck so we defended ourselves, we got out and they attacked us and our friend ended up dying out of this.”

Torrence was found unresponsive when police arrived. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they do not have a suspect in custody at this time.
