MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4) – The three victims of an hours-long barricade that ended in Millcreek on Saturday have been identified.

Unified Police say the victims are 54-year-old Bonne Rachelle Brady, 53-year-old Timothy Andrew Legrande, and 30-year-old Jacob Andrew Legrande.

Police believe the incident was sparked by the family attempting to hold an intervention for Jacob regarding drug addiction and mental health issues.

Officers first arrived on the scene on Friday night after reports that shots were being fired inside a Millcreek home. Officers were able to retrieve one hostage from the home, an elderly woman, but other people still remained inside.

Throughout the almost day-long barricade, both SWAT Team members and crisis negotiators tried calming the suspect, Jacob Legrande, and negotiating a peaceful surrender. Unfortunately, negotiation attempts were unsuccessful.

Finally, on Saturday afternoon, officers were able to enter the home, where they discovered three bodies, that included the suspect.

No shots were fired from officers during this incident. Police are still investigating the cause of death and how events unfolded inside the home.

“This is a sad situation,” says Rosie Rivera of the Unified Police Department. “Someone lost their life and we’re going to do everything we can to figure out what happened.”

This situation remains an active investigation and ABC4 will update the story as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: SATURDAY 3:50 p.m. 9/4/21

MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4) – Police have confirmed three people have died inside the home where a man was barricaded for almost a day in Millcreek.

Sheriff Rosie Rivera of the Unified Police Department says authorities sent drones into the home and discovered three bodies.

Officials believe the three individuals are all relatives, but are only treating one individual as the suspect.

Detectives and a forensics team will be investigating the scene to confirm the victims’ identities.

Police describe the three victims as one female around 50-years-old, one male around 50-years-old, and one male around 30-years-old. Officials believe the 30-year-old man is the suspect.

Rivera says the suspect was “extremely armed with various firearms and a lot of ammunition,” which made the situation more difficult for authorities to handle. SWAT Team members were also involved in the operation.

Authorities are unsure whether the incident was a homicide or a suicide and are still investigating to determine how events unfolded in the home.

There were no officers harmed during the incident or any other victims at this time, police say.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
