CACHE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A 33-year-old man has died after suffering from injuries sustained in an ATV crash early Saturday.
In a press release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, medical crews were dispatched to the Franklin Basin area of Logan Canyon shortly after noon. The crash occurred just 4 miles off of Highway 89 on Franklin Basin Road.
Deputies say appears the man, later identified as Cassidy Wakely, failed to negotiate a bend in the road and fell off the roadway over a 15 foot drop-off. Wakley was found unconscious and not breathing. Bystanders arrived and began performing CPR while emergency crews were en route.
When they arrived, crews continued live-saving efforts. Unfortunately, the Wakely was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s office investigators are receiving assistance from the State Parks Department and the State Medical Examiner’s office.
