SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 UTAH) – A rally and march are underway in downtown Salt Lake as part of a national movement in 97 cities.
The local LGBT community gathered at the federal building and are marching to the Capitol for speeches.
It is to address concern over the political landscape with President Trump in charge.
They are concerned about losing some of the gains they’ve made.
Justin Hudspeth, an organizer for the march, told us, “2014 is when the Supreme Court allowed gay men and lesbian women to adopt children. This year in Utah we have the No Homo Promo in our education system and so we don’t want to lose that going forward.”
About a hundred people gathered at the federal building and they expect the crowd to grow as they head to the Capitol.
