Joe Biden in Utah for E2 Summit

Salt Lake City, Utah- (ABC4 Utah) – Former Vice President Joe Biden is in Utah as part of Mitt Romney’s annual E2 Summit.

The summit brings influential business, political and policy leaders together at Deer Valley.

They take on some of the pressing issues of the day.

“He just wants solution minded people, who can actually make stuff happen to get together, and come up with ideas outside of the mess that is Washington D.C.,” said Kirk Jowers, former Chair, and General Counsel of Romney’s Leadership PAC’s.

Jowers says those solution minded people include some of Romney’s former political foes.

“He really has the most forgiving spirit I’ve ever met.”

This year, Joe Biden is participating. Jowers says that sends an interesting signal.

“Certainly speaks to the influence of Mitt Romney, and the prestige of this summit, but it also shows, perhaps that Biden is still interested, perhaps in a 2020 run for president, or at least remaining very relevant in the most important discussions.”

Jowers says an important discussion is exactly what he expects when Biden and Romney team up for a discussion Friday night.

“What are the things we most need to accomplish, and how do we do that. And, I think it will be very refreshing for Vice President Biden to come to a summit where that really is the expectation,” Jowers said.
