Herriman home demolished in fire

HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC4) – A home is completely destroyed after a two-alarm fire burned at 14652 s 5000 w in Herriman, Utah. The family was out of town. 

The home is a total loss and officials estimate $400,000 in damages. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

“Had we been notified earlier, we could probably have made better progress,” said Michael White with Unified Fire. 

The roof of the collapsed while firefighters were fighting the blaze, but there were no injuries. 

A neighbor discovered the fire around 4 am. He noticed smoke coming from the roof. It took crews 60-90 minutes to fight the blaze. 

The fire was called in as a two-alarm fire and it eventually reached a three-alarm fire, but the extra crews weren’t needed.

Firefighters from Herriman, Riverton South Jordan and Bluffdale responded to the scene.
