SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Governor Gary Herbert has ordered United States and Utah flags to be flown at half-staff Monday from sunrise until noon in honor of Memorial Day. Then raise them to full staff the rest of the day.

The order applies to all state office buildings, but he’s asking everyone else to follow suit.

In addition to the Governor’s order, President Donald Trump has issued a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe Memorial Day 2017 as a day of prayer for permanent peace.
