38-year-old arrested for DUI after crash that killed South Jordan man on I-80

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for driving under the influence following a crash on I-80 Friday morning that killed a man from South Jordan.

According to arresting documents, Ryan Cody Davis was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-80 near 7200 West when his vehicle collided with a car being driven by Todd Neely, 29, of South Jordan. Neely died at the scene of the crash as a result of his injuries.

Troopers stated Davis told them he took his medication the morning of the crash and he was headed to Tooele when the next thing he knew, he was there. Davis also told Troopers he had smoked meth two weeks ago.

Troopers located trazodone, aripiprazole, fluoxetine, clonidine all of which are central nervous
system depressants. The prescriptions were all under Davis’ name.

Davis declined to submit to a blood draw.
