Etna Fire in Box Elder County almost contained

The fire is now 80% contained. It’s expected to be completely out by tonight. 

No structures were threatened. 

[STORY AS OF 7/22]

BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Crews are currently battling a fire on the western edge of Box Elder County between Etna and Grouse Creek.

The fire, known as the Etna Fire, started around 1:00 this afternoon and is currently burning between Etna and Grouse Creek near Grouse Creek Road.

The fire has now consumed 703 acres and is currently 50 percent contained. 

There were six structures that were originally threatened but have since been protected. There are no reports of any injuries.

Officials do not have a cause as to how the fire started.
