Dog injured in shooting at Logan park

LOGAN, Utah – Logan Police continue to investigate a shooting at a public park Saturday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., police responded to a shooting at a park near the First Dam area. The person who called 911 said their dog had been shot.

Police have learned that an individual with two large dogs arrived at the park but the dogs got loose and started charging toward another dog. Two shots were fired into the ground, but the large dogs continued to charge. It was at that point that one of the large dogs was hit.

The dog that was shot was taken to a local shelter with a neck wound. The dog is expected to survive. 

It is unknown how the two large dogs escaped their owners grip.
