PRICE, Utah (ABC4 News)- The Carbon County Police Dept. said there will be an extra police presence at Carbon High School Friday.
“We are investigating a situation at Carbon High School,” a Facebook post on the department’s page stated. “We take all threats seriously, at this time student safety is not at risk.”
Details on the threat have not been made available, but the school district posted the following from Sheriff Jeff Wood:
“It’s under investigation, we do take all threats seriously and feel the students are not in danger at this time. There are lots of rumors going around and I appreciate the public’s patience in this matter and ask our citizens not to spread unsubstantiated details in this case. There was a previously planned bullying assembly with the k9 being there to get familiar with the school and the students and they are part of the police presence at the high school today. In the event of a substantiated threat, the public would be immediately notified. Thanks”
