ERDA, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – A candlelight vigil was held late Saturday night for 300 thousand chickens.

Several dozen animal rights activists held a peaceful vigil outside the Fassio Egg Farm in Tooele County.

Last week, flames ripped through the farm killing 300 thousand chickens.

The protesters carried signs saying “Compassion Is Not A Crime” and “Animals Want To Live”.

The group, Direct Action Everywhere, uses protests to challenge the use of animals for food, clothing, experimentation and entertainment.
