SANDY (News4Utah) – Firefighters have deemed a custom rubber molding business a total loss after a structure fire Sunday night.

Multiple engines from Sandy Fire, Salt Lake Fire and Unified Fire all responded to a structure fire that started just after 8 p.m. at South Valley Specialties at 547 West 9320 South. Officials said the business was not open at the time of the business.

When crews arrived, the entire building was on fire and there were reports of explosions inside the building.

The roof of the building did collapse. As of 9:30pm, the fire is mostly knocked down.

There are no reports of injuries and no on-going threat to the public. The cause of the fire is unknown. Firefighters are expected to be on scene all night to investigate.

This is a developing story. ABC 4 will have more information when it becomes available.
