SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Out of town visitors must have thought Salt Lake City was a crazy place tonight.
Two thousand people dressed formally and rode their bicycles from Pioneer Park to the Gallivan Plaza.
They call it the Bike Prom and it is put on by the Bicycle Collective.
Heidi Goedhart, a member of the Bicycle Collective, told Good4Utah, “We want people that are interested in bikes, we want people to pull out those bikes, dust them out of the garage, come out and ride with us. Bicycling is fun, it encourages health and activity and reduces congestion on Utah roadways. We really just want to get more people biking.”
The bike ride ended at the Gallivan Plaza for a giant party with music, drinks and portraits in that formal wear.
