SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – There are now hundreds of happy kids on Salt Lake’s west side tonight.
The Salvation Army had its annual Back to School Bash on Saturday. Around 300 kids got backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. And for many of these kids, this was a godsend.
“It helps the children because they’re able to have their school supplies and backpacks where we couldn’t afford it and we’re able to get it,” Rita Lett, a grandmother of three, told Good4Utah. “I’m real thankful for that.”
The Salvation Army also had food and fun for the kids. Companies like Smith’s, Shopko, Sizzling Platter and Little Caesars donated to make it a great day for the children.
