SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – The annual Peanut Butter Jamm, a benefit event designed for kids to help local kids in need, was held Saturday at the Gallivan Center.
The event was held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gallivan Center, 239 Main St. in Salt Lake City.
The project focuses on kids helping local kids in need, and instills the spirit of giving and sharing in every dancer who participates. The proceeds go to help the Backpack and Mobile Family Pantry programs at the Utah Food Bank.
Last year more than 61,000 backpacks were sent home to ensure hunger free weekends for kids and the Mobile Family Pantry program fed over 130,000 children.
The event included a dance battle with dancers from all age groups, a master hip hop class and two on two open style battles for junior and senior dancers who had the chance to win cash & prizes!
Entry to the Peanut Butter Jamm was $10 and a jar of peanut butter and was sponsored by Will Dance For Kids Project, Chick- fil-A, UDO & The Bboy Fed!
Will Dance for Kids Project has donated $265,000 and over 36,000 pounds of food in the past six years to the Kid’s Programs at the Utah Food Bank. Since every $1 is worth $7.81 in goods and services to the Utah Food Bank, the value of this donation is over $2 million dollars to help feed hungry kids in our state.
