SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) Hundreds of thousands around the country joined in the first ever worldwide March for Science on Earth Day.

A huge crowd of people marched from City Creek Park to the Utah State Capitol in an effort to raise awareness about how much science plays a critical role in our lives.

“We know that good science makes good policy and we are happy to support science education, science funding and making sure that science is part of our decision making,” said Andrea Nelson of the Utah Nature Conservancy.

The group is also upset that President Trump wants to cut billions from the National Institutes of Health which funds so many research projects.
