The Younger You S2 Ep.12 The Younger You Challenge Part 1


The Younger You six-week challenge is back! We’re at The Gym at City Creek to pick our contestants, but first everybody who thinks that they have what it takes to make it through the challenge will have to go through the max workout.

The max workout is an intense 45-minute challenge that the trainers put everyone through to see if they have what it takes to make it through The Younger You Challenge. Eight contestants were picked instead of six contestants like we originally planned. All the contestants are stoked for the challenge and ready to put in work, but they are a little nervous.

Most of the contestants are partnered up to help give moral support and keep each other on track to make it threw the challenge. Ana Sanchez and Rowena Ward are friends, Alma and Eveloni Fonua are brother and sister, and Tom and Kati Quinn are married.

Over the next 12 weeks, there is a lot that is involved in the challenge. All the contestants will visit Max Muscle and getting their body composition tested so the can see all their imbalances. At Max Muscle they will setup the contestants a protein and meal plan. The trainers, Taylor and Lina will be give them all 3 personal training sessions per week, and they are supposed to go and workout once a week on there own. The challenge is setup to be very difficult, but the contestants could loose as much as 25 pounds in two weeks if they work hard!

The trainer has expressed that it doesn’t matter how hard you workout if you do not have a good meal plan and stick to it. A good way to put this is, you can’t out train a poor diet. At Max Muscle they set them up with a very customized meal plan assigned to each individual that tells them what to eat, and how much to eat of that food and when to eat throughout the day, all based of the body type and size and their level of physical activity.

At Salt Lake Running Company they will be giving all the contestants a new pair of shoes that are custom fit to them. They videotape everybody running on the treadmill to see how their foot hits the ground when they run. They then analyze that information and decide which shoe best fits that person, and they pick a custom shoe sole for the person to put in their shoe.

All our challenge contestants will be undergoing an intense boot camp style sessions throughout the 12 week period. They will be pushed to their fullest. Everybody is doing pretty well after the first 4 weeks, but will they make it? Keep watching upcoming episodes to find out.
