Suspects Arrested After Armed Robbery and Short Chase in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News)  An early morning robbery at a convenience store ended after the suspects took officers on short pursuit, then gave up.

Lt. Mike Ross, Salt Lake City Police said the incident happened just before 12:25 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 535 E 1700 S when two men entered the store with a weapon and demanded money. The suspects then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

After the vehicle description was given to police, the suspects were spotted by officers. The suspects would not comply at first, and a short pursuit ensued but when the suspects reached the intersection of  Utah St. and High Ave,  they pulled over and surrendered. 

Officers arrested one adult, James Tamoua, 21, for aggravated robbery, obstruction of justice and transaction of a firearm by a restricted person.

A second suspect, a juvenile, was arrested and booked into detention.
