Cedar City man reported missing found dead

CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – UPDATE: Police said Johnny Rollins was found dead on December 28, 2019.

Cedar City Police say they have no answers into the case of a missing man who told his wife he was going for a walk back in March and never returned.

Johnny Dale Rollins, 64, suffered a stroke back in 2013. He also has signs of dementia. He walked out of his home near 600 West and 1300 North in Cedar City in late March and has not been seen since.

He was reportedly last seen wearing a black jacket, dark pants, and brown boots.

Police have conducted several searches with no luck, even going so far as to ask Southern Utah University Aviation School to help look.

Part of the issue, authorities say, is Rollins doesn’t have a few key items.

“He left his wallet, his cell phone behind, so we just don’t have any way of tracking him, and there’s just no way to know,” said Sgt. Jerry Womack.

Police do not suspect foul play and add Rollins had no enemies. If you have seen Johnny, please contact the Cedar City Police Department at (435)586-2955.
