SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Hundreds of orchid lovers spent the weekend at Red Butte Garden.
It’s the annual spring orchid show put on by the Utah Orchid Society. An amazing display of different shapes and sizes and every color you can imagine.
These people work hard all year for this. Why do they do it? Bruce Hugo, of the Utah Orchid Society, tells us, “One of the reasons is we like showing off. We have fun, we grow orchids in our home and in our greenhouses and it’s a lot of fun. You get to bring ‘em out and they actually get judge against each other.”
The judges gave two of the orchids national awards. And that is a big deal.
