Supervisor at Cedar City restaurant accused of raping 17-year-old employee

CEDAR CITY (ABC4 News)- A supervisor at a Cedar City restaurant is accused of raping a 17-year-old employee.

Charging documents state 35-year-old Joshua Downard allegedly raped the victim in the spring of 2018. The victim said she asked Downard to take her for a ride. The victim claimed while on that ride he pulled over and raped her and told her if she told anyone he would use his gun to kill his sisters, charging documents report.

In a recorded interview at the Iron County Children’s Justice Center, the 17-year-old victim disclosed repeated incidents happening nearly every day she was scheduled to work after the first rape, police records state.

Downward is facing two counts of rape and one count of forcible sex abuse and sexual battery.

His next court date is January 08th.
